Iran is willing to resume nuclear talks with the United States on condition that it is treated with "respect" and "honor", Iran's foreign minister has stated.

The Iranian diplomat stated exclusively dialogue was effective, and disclosed new appeals had originated from go-betweens to restart negotiations with the US government. He said Iran had zero secret atomic facilities, and Iran had not yet reached a point to authorize the global atomic watchdog to visit attacked atomic facilities for security reasons.

Navigating a Challenging Route

Araghchi is navigating a difficult course since Iran wishes not to be perceived to be proceeding from a stance of vulnerability, and he emphatically stated that Iran had come out more powerful militarily and emotionally from the joint assault on its enrichment centers in June.

He was talking at a security conference in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an inalienable right to process nuclear material domestically that it will perpetually retain" – the primary cause of the impasse in the prior discussions.

Earlier Discussions Suddenly Terminated

The prior phases of talks between the US and Iran were ended suddenly and bitter end on 12 June when the Israeli government, with US support, struck Iran's enrichment centers in a fortnight-long engagement that concluded with the US president declaring the locations had been eliminated. Following this, EU nations employed their right to reinstate global restrictions, but Iran insists they have not had a substantial consequence.

Iranian officials said they felt they had attained a "perfect agreement" to the enrichment issue in previous talks, when it was decided an local partnership with American involvement could enrich uranium. The two nations would have been able to declare success since home-based processing would have continued and the US could be confident that Iran's enrichment initiative was solely for peaceful purposes.

In his remarks to the conference, designed to depict the US as a dominant force that misuses the concept of worldwide standards, the foreign minister stated the fortnight-long engagement demonstrated the dispute could not be resolved by combat operations. He said the attacks commenced with a US demand for an unconditional Iranian surrender and ended with an unconditional call for a ceasefire.

Iran is assured the first strikes by Israel were carried out with complete American awareness and coordination, making trust hard to rebuild.

Araghchi said: "It was not Iran that had fled negotiations; it was the United States and the Western nations that had consistently sought to impose their will during the negotiations. Negotiations can still be active and continues the final answer to address disagreements, but its requirements, rules and tenets must be adhered to."

"If they talk to the citizens of Tehran with the language of respect and honor, they will get a reply in the identical approach."
