19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev won his first title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a former number one, has had a torrid season, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in particular - led to him dropping out of the top ten and finally splitting with long-term coach his previous coach.
Presently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden title after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface after March of 2023.
Victory also signifies the Russian has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one various tournaments.
"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters together, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had led some to question if his capacity to play at the top level was finished.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and play assertively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
He recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the final five points to go ahead.
Both players exchanged breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to force a decider.
Moutet defended four early-game break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev won the break to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the win with a rally at the net, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
